Finish the thing
Get the thing off your mind.
Make a specific commitment, find the next step and get a call before it slips again.
Start with Finish the thingAn example check-in
You wanted to send the proposal today. Are you waiting on information, or is there a part we can finish now?
The price is ready. I just need to write the introduction.
Fictional example. Your agent follows your goal. The starting point
What needs to be finished, and what would done look like?
“Work on the proposal” is difficult to finish. “Send the revised proposal to the client” gives you a clear outcome. This starter helps turn a loose intention into an action you can recognise as complete.
What is useful to record?
- What done looks like
- The next small action
- Your deadline, if there is one
Tell Chief what you need to finish and any real deadline. Break the work down only as far as it helps you start. Choose when a check-in would be useful. If the task is blocked, say what is missing so the next call can focus on a decision rather than repeat the same reminder.
A review with a purpose.
Separate finished commitments from work in progress. Identify the blocker that repeated and choose a smaller or clearer next action.
Reviews work with the information available to your agent. They should explain missing coverage and distinguish a possible pattern from proof. You can change or pause the review.
